Game Jam

A game made for the Boss Rush Jam 2024.

For the GameJam theme "Exchange," we chose the "exchange" of broken parts. The ants in our craft shop go through various levels and must repair or replace things in the region. They are attacked by larger animals that feel disturbed. These opponents are our bosses. They cannot really be defeated; one must live with them and work around them.

Each run is recorded, so in later runs, the previous ones are displayed. We wanted to convey the feeling that everyone is working simultaneously in the end, resembling an anthill where there is a lot of bustling activity.

It was our first GameJam. We had high ambitions and achieved quite a bit, but unfortunately, due to time constraints, we couldn't accomplish everything. We hope you enjoy the game.

Story

Dona the ant has a new job at the 'Antless Repair Service.' As an electrician, the tough ant will now repair cables and replace broken fuse boxes. Other ants will help her, but they all must be careful. The work sites are not as safe as expected. Your team must work on various tasks while being wary of boss-like creatures that aren't too thrilled about your presence.

Dona is the electrician of the group. The ant can handle everything related to electricity very quickly but does not handle sanitation tasks due to the battery on her back. Anthony is a fast ant who only handles sanitation tasks but steers clear of electricity. Raf is an ant robot controlled by Splint. He can perform material tasks very well. Unfortunately, Leo did not make it to the playable character list. He would have been the gardener of the group, removing moss and undergrowth in a mining-level.

Controls

• A and D - Move Left and Right
• Space  - Jump
• E - Interact with tasks
• Left Shift - Dash in movement direction
• Left Mouse Button - Shot into the direction of the cursor
